Farm Mission: 

Huguenot Street Farm has been producing vegetables in New Paltz, NY since 1999. Our mission is to produce high quality vegetables using growing practices that focus on the health of our soil and our environment. This includes using veganic and regenerative growing practices.

Job Description: 

As part of the crew at Huguenot Street Farm, you will work in all aspects of vegetable production, gaining hands-on experience in small-scale agriculture. Job duties include but are not limited to: 

• Seeding, planting, harvesting and washing vegetables

• Carrying crates of vegetables from the field 

• Set-up and break-down of row cover and landscape fabric 

• Weeding by hand and with tools

No prior farming experience is required. We will teach you! Please note: this is a fast paced and physically demanding job.

Job Requirements: ​

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up to 300 feet 

• Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions 

• Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time

• Ability to work at a fast pace for several hours 

• Reliable means of transportation to work 

• Attention to detail

• Ability to take direction

• Ability to work with others and on own 

• Willingness to be flexible with job duties 

Other Preferred Skills: 

• Experience working on a farm or in related field such as landscaping, gardening, or other outdoor work

• Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, harvest knives, clippers, trowels and shovels

Schedule: 

Seasonal work: Late March/ early April- Late October/ early November​

• Part-time: ~ 16 hours/week

  • Hours: ~ 8AM-5PM (May vary with time of season and weather)

  • Ideal days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday OR  Tuesday, Thursday 

• Full- Time: ~40 hours/ Week 

  • Hours: ~ 8AM-5PM (May vary with time of season and weather)

  • Monday-Friday

​​Compensation: 

• $16-$17/ hour depending on experience 

• Vegetables!
